AKB42x Integrated Aiport Keyboard with MSR for Credit Card Reading
The AKB423M keyboard integrates magnetic stripe reading (MSR) for airline passenger check-in and credit card reading.
The incorporation of the MSR can be used in applications for check-in staff to provide airlines with additional revenue through taking credit card payment for extra baggage and enhanced facilities such as in-flight meals. The MSR performs bidirectionally and reads ISO encoded credit and frequent flyer cards at a wide range of swipe speeds. The MSR channel across the back of the keyboard is designed for optimum performance and is fitted with a smooth wear-resistant stainless steel guide and achieves reliable reading at fast and slow swipe speeds.
AKB423M keyboards are based on Access’ proven rugged keyboard construction resulting in many years of uninterrupted service in the demanding check-in environment. Click here for more information on Access keyboard reliability.
The keyboards have USB interface and can be configured to add a new host or to support non-standard cards such as loyalty or frequent flyer and special dedicated formats. To ensure flexibility for the future, new firmware to add and modify features can be down-loaded to the unit.
An optional pointing device is available to integrate mouse functionality.
