Swipe and Park Keyboards for Banking
Access offers the integration of a swipe and park module into its retail bank and building society keyboards providing an easy option to accept EMV credit card and debit card chip and pin card transactions and enabling retention of the card during the transaction process.
A range of standard keyboard configurations is available in addition to full-custom keyboard capability for integrating the EMV PCI-DSS swipe and park card reader. In addition, a PIN pad can be added to the keyboards to allow PIN-based cardholder verification.
By swiping a credit card through the reader it is possible to read 3 track MSR encoded data as well as locate the card securely into the smart card receptor and complete an EMV payment transaction by reading the Chip. Cards with only a magnetically encoded data can also be processed in the same reader without relying on the operator to distinguish between card types.
Access provides a pre-configuration service to customise keypads with special key layouts, colours and legends. QWERTY and matrix-style keyboard layouts are available as well as options which integrate a Glidepoint mouse pointer or biometric fingerprint reader. All key positions can be programmed to have a single character or string of characters using the free-to-use SoftProg keyboard programming utility. A keyboard pass-through port is also fitted for system maintenance and programming.
