Access IS has become an IATA (International Air Transport Association) Strategic Partner in order to participate with the development of a standard to assist the airline industry accelerate the adoption of Near Field Communications (NFC) technology for secure, efficient passenger processing. Compact OCR reader from Access IS makes light work of passport data capture
Access IS has announced a low power, compact and lightweight optical character reader (OCR) for passports, identity cards and other OCR-B encoded cards. The OCR312 connects via USB and its low power consumption and ability to revert to sleep mode enable it to operate efficiently with battery powered devices. Keyboard and virtual serial data formats are available (May 2012)

Access to demo next-gen boarding gate reader with NFC and face-up 2D barcode recognition and unveil new concept kiosk device for self-service applications at Passenger Terminal Expo 2012
Access IS will demonstrate its BGR135C boarding gate reader at PTE 2012. The device reads NFC phone tags as well as contactless smart cards. Also on show will be a new combined mobile phone bar code reader and NFC kiosk module (April 2012)

Combined contactless NFC and 2D barcode reader simplifies passenger boarding
The new BGR125 is capable of reading contactless media such as NFC enabled mobile phones and contactless frequent flyer cards, and 2D barcodes offering increased convenience to passengers and airlines alike. (February 2011)

Access’ snap-on readers for hand-held computers enable mobile check-in
A new family of snap-on accessories enables agents to relieve check-in queues using hand-held mobile computers. The devices read the MRZ on passports and ID cards, and optionally magnetic swipe cards allow credit card payment and reading of loyalty cards. (September 2010)

Access wins Commonwealth Games keyboards and boarding gate readers race
Access was the winner in the race to equip the world's third largest airport terminal, Terminal 3 at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, with passenger processing equipment in preparation for the Commonwealth Games in October. (June 2010)

Access IS announces an optical character reader (OCR) and magnetic stripe reader (MSR) snap-on accessory module that adds new capabilities to the Intermec CN3 and CN4 hand-held computers. The OCR310-CN3 reads passports, ID cards and other documents. (December 2009)
