IP65 sealed stainless steel keyboard from Access is designed for rugged kiosk applications
Reading, UK, April 25, 2008 - Access has introduced a rugged, stainless steel keyboard that is IP65 compliant when fitted in a suitable system enclosure. The GAZ64 keyboard provides reliable operation in both indoor in outside public access kiosks, where its rugged construction ensures long operational life and resistance to vandalism. Keycaps are designed to withstand deliberate twisting and leveraging and a further security feature means that firmware and sensitive data will self-destruct in the event the keyboard is opened.
The keyboard has a wipe-clean surface and the laser-etched key cap markings are resilient when subjected to abrasion, ensuring that markings remain clear and undamaged throughout the life of the product.
The electronics are fully sealed on the underside of the keyboard making the unit impervious to water and other contaminants.
They GAZ64 has two built-in cursor controls, a trackball and keys for horizontal or vertical movement. Other models are available without the trackball, with custom key-legend designs, and with just numeric keypads. The whole unit is housed in a high quality stainless steel casing with a pre-drilled flange to make it easy to fix into the system enclosure. The keyboard measures 416 x 134mm with trackball.
The host system interface is via a USB or PS/2 connector.
