The REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 came into effect on 1 June 2007 to improve the way chemicals on their own, in substances/mixtures and in articles are managed across Europe.
In line with Access’ commitment to environmental responsibility, we take a proactive approach to ensure continuous compliance with all of our REACH obligations.
Access IS ("Access") is aware of the obligations on importers and suppliers of articles in relation to a subset of chemicals known as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs), as defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 ('the REACH Regulation') on the European Chemicals Agency website:

Access’ s supply chain is subject to our regular compliance programme, including questionnaires on REACH, and we request our suppliers to provide us with comprehensive information on the presence of substances, including SVHCs, in the items that they supply to us. We regularly update our supplier survey to reflect changes in global legislation which may affect our products (i.e. electrical and electronic products), including revisions to the Candidate List.
As a producer and supplier of articles, we have an obligation under Article 33 of REACH to communicate information on SVHCs which are present above a threshold limit of 0.1% weight by weight.
We will continue to monitor the regulations and the list of substances defined above and advise customers of any changes that relate to articles supplied.

Access takes a proactive approach to comply with the EU RoHS Directive (2015/863/EU) and RoHS-like laws implemented in countries other than the EU. The RoHS Directive aims to minimise the human health impact and environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic equipment at the end of its life by reducing the legal quantities of certain substances that the equipment may contain. Products sold in Europe may not currently contain more than specified concentrations of the ten substances that are restricted in accordance with the RoHS Directive.
Access’ s supply chain is subject to our regular compliance programme, including questionnaires on RoHS, and we request our suppliers to provide us with regular and comprehensive information on their compliance with all legislation, including RoHS. We regularly update our supplier survey to reflect changes in global legislation which may affect our products (i.e. electrical and electronic products) and carry out audits as required.
At Access, we aim to improve our sustainability and that of our customers. We actively work towards reducing our impact on the environment through continuous improvement; this covers our offerings to our customers, products, packaging, internal operations, transport and waste.
We aim to follow the waste hierarchy in all areas of waste, seeking to minimise use of raw materials, reuse materials wherever possible, recycle and only dispose of waste in line with legislation where there is no other alternative.
