Custom keyboard base layouts
Access have manufactured custom keyboards for over twenty years and have developed a range of base models from which the majority of all custom keyboard requirements can be satisfied.
For requirements that cannot be satisfied using these devices, a full-custom keyboard design facility is available using our large team of design engineers based in Reading, UK.

Standard options for custom keyboard
Through its history, Access has produced keyboards in every common language, in many regional languages and has provided many customer specified key graphics to represent certain key functions. In-house facilities provide two-shot moulded and laser-etched keys provide legends that will not wear out with use, while printed keys provide a lower cost alternative.
Keyboard programming with SoftProg
Access programmable and custom keyboards can easily be programmed to perform a string of keystrokes with the press of a key or combination of keys.

A common enhancement to customised keyboard design is to integrate combinations of magnetic stripe readers (MSRs), optical character readers (OCRs) and smartcard readers into the keyboard. The integration of these devices in to the keyboard enhances workstation ergonomics, prevents the unwanted removal of peripherals, reduces desktop clutter and simplifies installation.
For applications where the use of an external mouse is not appropriate or required, or where desk space is scarce, a range of integrated mouse pointing devices in a custom keyboard is available. A range of touchpad, pointing stick or trackerball options is available.
