Integrated reader for 2D BCBP, ATB2 and Passports for Check-in, Lounges and Duty-Free Applications
Reading, UK, March 2009 – Access IS announces the LSR130, a compact device that integrates up to four data reading devices for use at airport check-in, lounge, duty-free and security counters, providing a low cost and tidy alternative to discrete devices.
The LSR130 is the first airport device to read all media commonly presented by passengers in airports. It integrates a 2D bar code imager and a manual four-track magnetic stripe reader, with options for OCR passport and e-passport reading. The LSR130 offers fast and accurate reading of home-printed boarding passes, mobile phone bar codes, ATB2 documents, credit cards, frequent flyer cards, passports and ID travel cards, and e-passport biometric data.
The unit measures just 218L x 210W x 150H mm and can connect to the host computer with a single RS-232 or USB cable, making the it easier to install and maintain, while reducing desk clutter.
When reading boarding passes from mobile phones or PDAs, the LSR130 reads the bar codes face-up, which is the fastest and easiest way for an agent to work. A large document throat allows bar codes to be read from any position on a printed A4 page. Audible and visible indicators confirm that data has been read successfully.
