Access simplifies EPOS integration with UPOS support for magnetic stripe readers (MSR) on retail keyboard
Reading, UK, September , 2009 – Access IS, the data input technology company, has announced that all of the company’s magnetic stripe readers (MSRs), which are usually integrated into point-of-sale keyboards, now include drivers for JavaPOS and OPOS under the UPOS standard. This speeds up application development and gives systems integrators greater flexibility in their choice of hardware for use with Windows-based retail POS systems. The drivers are designed for USB HID (Human Interface Devices) connectivity.
Access keyboards are rugged, compact products based around standard designs that can be quickly and economically customised. They are fully configurable, often by customers themselves using Access’ SoftProg utility. Most have integral MSRs and other options include biometric fingerprint recognition modules and integrated GildePoint touch pads. The keyboards come in a choice of QWERY or Matrix (X-Y) layouts, key caps can be customised with respect to size, colour and legends, and formats range from 48-keys upwards.
