Access IS 2012 Railway Industry Innovation Award Winner

Access has scooped the 2012 Railway Industry Innovation Award for a mobile phone kiosk ticketing solution designed in collaboration with Masabi and Atos. Chiltern Railway’s mTicketing application allows commuters to securely purchase and display rail tickets on mobile phone handsets. (August 2012)

Access' BGR135 face-up boarding gate reader upgraded to simplify operation

Access IS has upgraded its 2D boarding gate reader (BGR) range, with the BGR135. The BGR135 is the base unit for a revised set of devices. It adds an industry-standard RJ45 port for connecting a receipt printer and a convenient power switch to allow the unit to shut down when not in use. (June 2012)

Hong Kong Airport introduces Access' automated 2D boarding pass readers

Automated passenger document-scanning technology is now in place at Hong Kong International Airport (Chek Lap Kok) courtesy of UK-based data capture specialists Access Is. The firm's LSR110 system employs barcode readers to scan both traditional passes and electronic versions displayed on cell phones. (May 2012)

Compact OCR reader from Access IS makes light work of passport data capture

The OCR312 is a low power, compact and lightweight optical character reader (OCR) for passports, identity cards and other OCR-B encoded cards. It connects via USB and its low power consumption and ability to revert to sleep mode enable it to operate efficiently with battery powered devices. (May 2012)

Access IS has installed customised keyboards with integral passport readers at TTT Moneycorp outlets across the UK. The compact programmable AKC110 keyboards include a card reader and passport reader and the keyboard saves desk space and simplifies transaction processing, improving service for TTT Moneycorp’s customers.
